Meet Dr. Sam LaChance

Dr. LaChance grew up in a Northern Wisconsin town that borders the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. He later attended The University of Wisconsin-Madison for college. In 2003, he married his wife, Claire, whom he’d known since they were teenagers competing on the same water ski show team. Shortly after, he and Claire moved to Twin Cities for graduate school. Dr. LaChance graduated from dental school at the University of Minnesota in 2007 and spent the next twelve years working in a group practice in St. Paul. Dr. LaChance has served a wide variety of dental community roles as a board member and head of the education committee for the St. Paul Executive Council, treasurer of the St. Paul District Dental Society, and as a host to shadowing experiences for pre-dental students from the University of St. Thomas, University of Minnesota, and dental assisting students from local community colleges. In 2015, he was awarded the “New Dentist Leadership Award” by the Minnesota Dental Association at the Star of the North Dental Convention. Dr. LaChance also volunteers for Give Kids a Smile, Mission of Mercy, and the Hope Dental Clinic.

In his free time, he enjoys biking and fishing with his two daughters, traveling with his family, watching Bob Ross paint, and golfing or fly-fishing. He looks forward to meeting you!

Krystal S. – Treatment Coordinator

Krystal is one of the Treatment Coordinators at Greenway Dental. She is at the front desk to greet new patients and families, schedule appointments, and make sure each visit is a pleasant experience for you and your family. She is available to serve all of your insurance needs from verifying and maximizing your benefits to helping you understand how they will work together. Krystal is dedicated to helping every patient become comfortable with their treatment plan and making you feel like part of the Greenway Dental family. Outside of work, Krystal enjoys practicing photography, gardening, reading, and spending time at the lake with her family. She currently resides in Blaine with her husband and three wonderful daughters.

Amanda – Dental Hygienist

Amanda grew up in Detroit Lakes MN and attended North Dakota State College of Science for her Dental Hygiene degree. She has been a practicing dental hygienist since 2003 and is thrilled to be a part of the Greenway Dental Team. She has a passion for patient care centered around each individual’s needs, enjoys building trusting relationships, and helping patients obtain a happy and healthy smile.

Amanda lives in Saint Paul with her husband, Adam, their 2 wonderful daughters, Aoife and Finella, and their crazy Border Collie, Emmylou. She enjoys reading, gardening, spending time with her family, and (sometimes mistakenly) attempting house projects on her 130 year old home. She most looks forward to springtime, sunshine, gardening season, and seeing everybody’s smiling faces.

Laura S. – Dental Hygienist

Laura grew up in Saint Paul and attended Century College where she attained a Dental Assisting degree in 2011. After working as an assistant for several years, she decided to further her dental career and go back to Century College and get her Dental Hygiene degree, graduating in 2016. She has been practicing in the dental field for 9 years, and loves working with patients and getting them the smile they want and deserve. She loves thinking of dentistry in terms of overall health.

When not practicing dentistry, Laura enjoys being active and adventurous. She loves running, rollerblading, boating/water sports, hiking, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.

Asha – Treatment Coordinator

You will find Asha at the front desk, as the Greenway Dental Scheduling Coordinator. She will be happy to answer your questions, respond to your emails, and answer your phone calls. She has worked in the field of dentistry for 3 years. Asha is currently studying to become a dental hygienist, so you might see her in the future in a different role! In her free time, she loves watching Netflix and TikTok videos and hanging out with friends.

Amber – Dental Assistant

Amber grew up in Lino Lakes, Minnesota, and graduated in 2020 from the University of Minnesota with a B.S. in Biochemistry and a minor in Spanish Studies. She will be attending the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in the Fall of 2021. At Greenway Dental, she works in sterilization, assists with dental procedures, and greets patients. She loves having the opportunity to work in the dental field before returning to school, and seeing the impact the quality oral care can have on patients’ smiles and overall health.

In her free time, Amber likes to be active and outdoors as much as possible. Some of her favorite activities include yoga, jogging, going up north to do watersports and snowmobile, playing with her dogs, and spending quality time with her family and friends.

Emily – Dental Assistant

Emily grew up in East Bethel and attended Herzing College, earning her degree in Dental Assisting in 2004. She currently lives in New Hope with her 19 year old son, Logan, and her kitty, Lulu. Dr. LaChance

Recently, Greenway Dental's Dr. Sam LaChance was named one of Minneapolis' Top Dentists on the 2020 list compiled by Minneapolis St Paul Magazine.

Mpls.St.Paul Magazine asked Twin Cities dentists to nominate other dentists they consider to be exceptional in the field - peers they would consult themselves if they were in need of a specialized dental professional. After they received nominations, they then grouped candidates into specialties and evaluated numerous factors. A few of these factors include (but are not limited to) peer recognition, professional achievement, and disciplinary history. Dental professionals who had the highest score from each grouping were invited to serve on a blue-ribbon panel to evaluate the other candidates.

At the end of the process, Mpls.St.Paul selected the 2020 Top Dentists, choosing only the dentists who'd acquired the highest point totals from the surveys, research, and blue-ribbon panel review. The final list contains approximately 10% of active dentists in the 10-county metro area.
